What makes these quarter-sized stamps special is that four impressions from the same stamp can be combined to create a larger motif. This allows you to create beautiful tile patterns that can also be easily combined with smaller tiles. The tile pattern stamps are available in nine sizes, making them compatible with standard cutters and perfectly combinable. The slightly unusual sizes account for the shrinkage of clay during drying and firing, resulting in tiles approximately 5x5cm, 10x10cm, and 20x20cm, while also aligning better with imperial (inch) measurements. These stamps aren't just for creating your own tiles; they can also be used for indigo printing and embossing on paper, cardboard, wax, and fabric, as well as for texturing ceramic objects. All our wooden stamps and hand rollers are milled from solid wood and feature beveled edges. They are easily removed from clay. The stamp blocks are made of solid hardwood: cherry, beech, oak, etc., sourced from sustainable European forestry and manufactured in Germany. The stamps are treated with linseed oil and are then ready for many uses. If necessary, clean with warm water and allow to dry slowly, then treat with a little more linseed oil. This way, they will last for generations. Very clear results on clay are achieved when the clay is somewhat dry and no longer smears. Then, gently and evenly tap the stamp with a rubber mallet. With a little practice, you can achieve perfect impressions on slabs. But of course, many other methods also work, such as filling a light sock (or similar) with cornstarch and lightly dusting the surfaces to be embossed. This way, the stamp can also be used perfectly on very fresh clay. It also works on FIMO (polymer clay and similar materials). CUSTOM ORDERS!
